ELI5: Why is my arm sore?

My arm started hurting around 8 hours ago and hasn't stopped just being painful. It isn't so much of a sore pain but more of an annoying one. There is no bruise or cut and i don't remember hitting it or trapping it. What causes this. It isn't common but it has happened before. ELI12 explanation is acceptable if needed.
