AMA Request: Someone who has written technobabble for any incarnation of Star Trek.

What is your educational background? Is it science related at all, or purely in creative writing or something similar?

What was the process for writing technobabble? How much of it was extrapolated from real theories, and how much was completely made up out of thin air?

Any funny stories of an actor failing horribly at executing your technobabble?

Was there some kind of adviser with a purely scientific background involved with this aspect of the show?

Kirk or Picard?
