New snake owner! Flaky eyes?

Hello herpers!

I bought a creamsicle corn snake about a month ago. But, just about an hour ago, I got a pastel ball python. I got the snakes at different pet stores. The corn snake is currently opaque and looks to be ready to shed. I have researched and it says to kinda help them shed, to spray them with warm water. Will this make the bedding moldy? I am currently using aspen bedding.

As for the ball python, I am not sure if it has already shed, or if it is going to shed soon (I will need to call the store and check). It's scales do not look opaque at all. The eyes are not milky, but there is like a layer of skin over the eyes... it kinda looks like it's flaking. He's not too skiddish, so I don't think it's impairing his vision too much. But it just doesn't look healthy. I was reading online, and the only thing I can think it is, is retained eye caps. Any ideas?
