Having a starting problem on a 2000 SV650, I've tried everything I can think of, advice appreciated.

This will be a little long, but I want to give as much detail as possible so please bear with me. A couple months ago some jerk backed into my bike and knocked it over leaving on it's side for up to 8 hours until I got back from work and picked it up. Minor damage, a broken clutch lever, a broken shift lever, and cracked housing around my blinker.

It was getting to be the heart of winter where I live so I put the bike in the basement of my apartment building and left it to fix later (first mistake I know, I've learned my lesson). Fast forward to about a month ago, I replaced the broken levers and decided to take the bike for a ride. Won't start.

Since then I've checked everything I can think of. My first check was spark plugs, still firing. I've traced my fuel line leaving the tank to make sure I have fuel all the way to the carbs. I've pulled the carbs and cleaned every jet in it and sprayed carb cleaner into the jets to make sure it has a clear path to the intake. My fuel bowls are filling and my throttle valve is opening. I replaced the air filter and charged my battery (no problems turning over just won't fire). Here is the kicker, if I put fuel directly into the intake it starts right up and runs until its burned off that small amount of fuel, still won't start.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm getting pretty frustrated both as an amateur mechanic and a motorcycle rider watching beautiful spring days come and go. If I can provide any more information let me know what and I'll do my best to answer it. Thank you.
