Bladed Bow?

So I was playing a Huntress and got a Bladed Bow which Identified as The uncursed +1 Certus sounds cool :), but the problem is I can't seen to fire arrows from it..."v" just makes it do a melee attack. Am I doing it wrong? or is a bladed bow not a bow any more?.

Also, is there a way to inspect items or something after you have identified them? I would really like to be able to get the kind of info the blacksmiths can tell you with the appraise service without having to pay them on top of having to identify stuff.

Thanks
