[R4R] Watch a Bollywood movie with me tonight?
Hey Redditors! So here I am, having a very unproductive Saturday afternoon looking on at the haunting prospect of an equally unproductive Saturday night. Being an engineering student, my solution is to avoid the problem altogether and solve the related problem of boredom (for partial credit) by watching an old favorite movie of mine, Rang De Basanti.
The movie has a bit of politics, a bit of history, a lot of soul and (of-course) a fair bit of silly music and dancing. No, seriously though... It's an awesome movie! It's about the lack of political efficacy in the modern youth intertwined with passion of the men that fought for freedom only a few decades ago. The music is by the amazing composer, the mozart of madras, A.R. Rahman (You may know him from the soundtrack of Slumdog Millionaire, but this is much better! Trust me!)
While it would certainly be fun to watch this by myself, I think it'd be a whole lot more fun to share that experience with other redditors. I'm an Indian guy living in Texas, so I have a decent bit of exposure to both Indian and American history and cultures so I can explain any concepts that may be confusing.
So how are we going to do this? Well, first send me a P.M. through reddit. If you aren't able to find the movie through netflix or some other legal source, send your message in pirate-speak (I'll take care of ya matey!). We'll all gather around some chat client (with support for group chats if multiple people are up for it) and play the movie synchronously with a chat going on the side (You get ONE restroom break at the interval!)
I'm planning on doing this at 10:00 PM CDT. The movie's around 2 hours long.
