Should Microsoft stop trying to integrate PCs with tablets and integrate them with televisions instead?

Not liking what I see with Windows 8, very tablet like. Looks like it's designed for touch screens, bleh.

It'd make a lot more sense if they designed the interface to be more suitable for TV's. Instead of going touch screen, why not have a wii-remote type thing so you can sit on the couch and browse Facebook or watch Netflix without having to use a keyboard and mouse. All modern TV's have HDMI and RGB inputs. Hooking up a PC to them is simple.

I just think if the industry wants to change up things with the home PC they should change it to be TV friendly and not so tablet oriented. Cable TV is becoming obsolete thanks to Netflix and You Tube. It's a fairly safe bet.

tl;dr I think they should stop trying to make PC's integrate with Tablets/Smart phones and bring PCs to the television instead. Anyone else think this makes a lot more sense?
