Industry's views on OSCP? Is it worth it?

I've finally decided on a career path; I want to work with offensive security/pentesting. I just recently got my net+ and sec+ from compTIA, and am looking at getting my OSCP next, but I am having a hard time finding how well respected it is in the industry. My goal is to get knowledgeable enough to get an entry level position somewhere with offensive security, or at least get into a position that will logically transition into one.

Does /r/asknetsec have any ideas if OSCP is the next step for me? Or should I be looking into other directions?
