Looking for an "adventure tourer"

So after seeing quite a few bad things on the F650GS I rode and doing some research I don't think it's really where I want to go for my next bike. Can anyone recommend a bike that fits the style of the F650GS? My only real requirements are that I'd like it to NOT be a single cylinder and would prefer 6 gears.

EDIT: I like the look of the NC700X any comments?
