Fixing -cm in Dota2
For anybody who isnt familiar with queueing for -cm in pubs I will describe it a bit. You start with a 4 man team and all have >200 wins. Somehow a pub with about 56 wins will always become captain, then pick 5 melee heroes and fail the game.
I love -cm mode, I really do and I want to be able to play it properly in pubs and I think there should be a system to increase the effectiveness of queueing for -cm in public games.
The problem basically is who the captain is. This is my idea to fix it: At the beginning of queueing you have to select the option whether you want to be a captain or not. And then when you are selected as a captain a captain MMR system will set in that basically at the end of the draft every single player will be forced to vote if they think they were outpicked or not (and a third option: not sure). With this you will acquire a rating and the higher the rating the more chance you have to be captain.
The second solution sits in the quest system that probably is going to be implemented. Force people to first do 10 quests and read some shit like this guide: http://www.playdota.com/guides/drafting-in-cm-for-intermediate about picking. And let them just select a few counterpicks that they have to get right before they can queue in CM. For example a simple one is which hero counters Enigma? (Vengeful Spirit.)
So what do you guys think about these ideas?
