Is it possible to have a working tesla generator?

Is this generator real? If so, can it actually produce free energy?

I've heard of this Tesla generator that can produce practically infinite and free energy. I personally do not believe it because it sounds too good to be true. However, people have said it's because the government and/or power companies are silencing the people who can create this generator so that everyone doesn't "get off the grid".

I don't even know if this is the correct place to ask this question, but it seems like those who know more science than me could answer this.
