Here is the email I just sent an email to Stephen LaBerge. DAE feel the same?
I wrote this email partly out of frustration, but maybe I'm not informed enough as to the activity of LaBerge. But I was also wondering if you folk agree that is seems like there is very little new in lucid dreaming for years now. Every article, blog and especially books I've read about lucid dreaming just repeat the same things i've read 10 years ago.
Let me know what you guys think:
"Dear Stephen,
This email, more than anything, is a question I hope you will be able to answer and I think it is an important one. I would like to point out first that I am a fan of your work, as this email might sound critical and I'm hoping to not be misunderstood.
Since I came across your book with Sounds True in 2005 I have been fascinated and attempted to cultivate lucid dreaming. Trying to find better and more easy ways to achieve results, after not much success for a long while, I read about the NovaDreamer but by that time I believe it was already discontinued and a note saying the 2nd version will be coming out soon replaced it. The first version was only on ebay together with cheap imitations. The 2nd version never came out.
So since then I have researched and read many books, websites, guides etc' trying to find additional way to achieve what was for me not so easy for some reason. It has been 8 years now and every single book or website I found quotes you, points to your books and repeats the same techniques you outlined from your then at least 10 year old research. There has been no development in the filed for at least 10 years, no new methods, no new devices, and with maybe the exception of attempts with supplements such as galantmine and others, I have found no new advancement in Lucid Dreaming induction.
What's worse is that you, Stephen LaBerge, the most known pioneer of lucid dreaming research of modern times, seemed to have disappeared off the face of the planet, with the exception of a few times a year to do a conference or an expensive retreat. You have no blog, no facebook page, no twitter account. The few youtube videos I found of you are from who knows what year, when you still had color in your hair. There has been nothing new from you just like the rest of the people in this field, who are just riding your coattails anyway (in a sense. i mean no offense to them).
Why has that been so, I wonder, as I continue to try to lucid dream with very little success. Now my ability to lucid dream is not your responsibility but I still wonder why the NovaDreamer 2 has been teased for years and never sees the light of day. I wonder why you seemed to have given up on research and on contributing to this field. Why do you not play a public role in this?
I would not have written this email to you if someone else would have taken charge and lead the way forward in this area but none has. There is a sea of people out there thirsty for real and new information about lucid dreaming, and not the endless repetition that is created due to a lack of innovators.
Now maybe there is a reason why you have seemed to disappear so if my email is written out of ignorance, I apologize, and I hope you will inform me as to the reasons.
But I would like to urge you, to encourage you, to step back into the forefront and take charge. Write a blog, do a video course, ask for volunteers, use crowd-sourcing, whatever you might need. People will put their money towards it if you put it out there, whatever it might be. There is a demand but no one to satisfy it.
My Lucid Dreams have been some of the most incredible experiences in my life and I hope that for me, and probably millions of people out there, you will be once again the Pioneer of Lucid Dreaming...
Thanks for all that you have contributed so far."
