Any advice on parrotlet breeding?

My parrotlets, Coconut and Lime, laid their first clutch about a month and a half ago. All of the eggs were healthy looking, but only two hatched. One hatchling died before making it fully out of the egg, and the other survived for almost two weeks. It looked like he aspirated from the mother feeding him.

I've been thinking that this was a pretty ok result from their first clutch, but I'm not sure. Do parrotlets get better with their brood eventually?
