The Anime provides two different stories of how Hiruzen became the Third Hokage. Does the Manga?

1 - Episode 73 (or, S02E21 if you're dividing them by "seasons"), while sealing the two Edo Tensei Hokages, he has a flashback of them announcing to a very young and small Hiruzen that he will be the third hokage "starting tomorrow" Found here (FYI: hulu).

2 - The most recent story told during the Danzo and Sasuke fight, where Team Tobirama + Danzo and two others are out in the First Shinobi War and Tobirama selects Hiruzen before he sacrifices himself. Found here 2 mins and 25 seconds in.

Going by the manga...I can't find the first flashback at all, and the second one is here. Did anyone else notice this at all? I'm assuming the latter is what's canon unless someone can find the first story in the manga.

Really I don't like the first one at all anyway.
