What the hell is wrong with this country?

Can anyone explain to me why everyone is up in arms about this whole Trayvon Martin thing but no one seems to know or care about the Fort Hood massacre? Why hasn't there been a formal investigation into the massacre but Obama can find the time to make a statement about Trayvon? "If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon." What in the actual fuck is going on in America?

EDIT (based on some comments): Would it have been less of a scandal if "shoot to wound" were applied and Trayvon lived through the ordeal?
