What is it about RPGs that you all like, and what could translate into making a fun tabletop rpg based video game?

So, obviously there are some things that simply can't be done when translating the tabletop game into VG form, and we could go on and on about it. Let's not talk about it. What would make them good?

There seems to be great love for the old RPGs like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, yet RPG as a whole has trended towards more action in their games. If we were to bring it back to classic style gameplay (Using Pathfinder, as one example in many), what would it need to be really good.

Edit: Tangentially, I'm also looking for how Tabletop gaming can improve Video Gaming. Not necessarily just adaptation.
