A good (or decent) skeleton watch for under $200 - is it possible? Can anyone recommend one?
I don't know a ton about watches, but I've been gaining an interest lately and trying to educate myself. I tried searching but I didn't find any similar threads, so sorry if this has been asked before.
I'm fascinated by skeleton watches and would love to have one to wear once in a while, but my budget is pretty limited. So, my question is, can I get a skeleton watch for under or around $200 that is actually worth $200? Or would I get a better value if I just bought a $20 generic chinese watch?
Manual-wind or automatic is fine. I'm not too picky about what kind of band it has, but I'd prefer it to be silver rather than gold if it's a metal band. I've got an average-sized wrist, so case diameter shouldn't be an issue as long as it's not super huge or super tiny. Bonus points for a chronograph.
And one other additional question: is it silly to buy an inexpensive tourbillon? I think they're neat, but I get the impression that a cheap tourbillon watch might come across as affected.
Thanks for taking the time to read and answer my questions! If you need any more details or anything, just ask.
tl;dr: Can I get a good value on a skeleton watch at around $200? Or am I better off buying a cheap generic one from China?
