[Build Help] Bulldozer FX-8150 or i5 2500k?

So I see everyone here recommending the i5 2.5K, but I was wondering about an AMD build in regards to the power. I'm looking at building a gaming machine (Needs to be relatively long term) and was wondering what the issues were with AMD's bulldozer CPU's as I never see them recommended here. What are the fundamental differences? Because on face value, the AMD chip appears to have more grunt behind it....and a lot more cores for a lower price point than say, an i7.
