Why did you pick the style you're playing rihgt now?

I see that the majority of you guys play electric (excuse my lack of terminology, I learnt everything in a different language) with only a handful of people owning (primarily) acoustics/classical which the polar opposite of what's going on in Asia. So why did you pick up electric instead of the others? I play fingerstyle because it's more relaxing which is also the primary reason why I started playing in the first place.
