My Lenovo T60, just died. I'm looking for a reliable, sturdy, and graphically capable laptop for college.

I am a college student studying engineering, and my Lenovo Thinkpad T60 just conked out on me. Fuck rain. I really liked my old Thinkpad because it was sturdy. It took a beating in my backpack. I'd like to be able to run some games, namely Killing Floor and World of Tanks , but I'm not looking for a gaming computer. I would like it to be able to handle some engineering software such as Matlab. I'm not worrying about the budget, but under $1300 would be nice. I'm open to suggestions, but no macs.
