Is anyone else really annoyed that just because the movie is coming out, people are suddenly all over the books, only reading them because of the movie?

People are suddenly completely all over the books, reading them only because of the movies. I'm not sure if I'm cynical, or even alone in this mindset, but it really annoys me that whenever a book-turned-movie comes out, people suddenly go crazy for the books.

Does no one possess originality anymore? I mean, I read the book three years ago, and I found it on my own.

I don't know, it just bugs me.
