[FOR HIRE] Recent grad, experience in fundraising, development, events. Very outgoing people-person, seeking an entry level job.
I am currently a graduating senior at USC majoring in Anthropology, East Asian Languages and Cultures, and minoring in Art History. I will be graduating in May. I believe that I have the skills to excel at jobs that involve people, such as jobs dealing with sales, marketing, public relations, and the like. Through my work experience, I have exceptional interpersonal aptitude and can quickly establish rapport with people from diverse backgrounds and at all professional levels. I also have strong orientation in customer service/satisfaction, with excellent communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
I have experience in non-profit development, fundraising, and event coordination. I single-handedly planned and organized a silent auction for a non-profit bringing in more than $9,000 for low income Asian Pacific Islanders in Los Angeles County through donations in kind I solicited from more than 1,300 businesses. I also single-handedly planned the 3 ceremonies during a 24-hour event that raised more than $95,000 total for cancer research (Relay for Life). In addition, I have experience working in a medical records office, that dealt with the medical records of the entire university, as well as privacy concerns. I am currently employed as an Undergraduate Research Assistant with an award-winning Harvard and Stanford educated professor at my university. I am also the team captain of a 10 sub-set team consisting of 81 (and growing) people for a fundraising event called Relay for Life. I organize and manage all the logistics of both the team itself and the logistics of the team's presence during the event.
I'm a great people-person with a very outgoing personality--in my studies, I've met people from all facets of life and have gained skills that would be very helpful in jobs dealing with customers/clients, what have you. I am a member of the Trojan Marching Band, and I've performed in front of more than 90,000 people in many places around the US. I am a very motivated and determined person with a strong work ethic and a very fast learner. In addition to my people-person qualities, I am very capable of working independently. I am also bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.
I am looking for an entry level job here in Los Angeles because I am keen on staying in Los Angeles after graduation. My family lives in Atlanta, and my last resort would be to move back home. I've grown up in Los Angeles, and have come to love this wonderful and diverse community. I am more than willing to send a cover letter and resume, as well as reveal my real Reddit username. I believe I am very capable of proving myself to be a very valuable addition to any company. Please PM me or e-mail me at famyshe [at] gmail [dot] com. Thank you so much for reading!
