1.2 RE Question - Help me figure this out, Reddit!

I was under the impression that all orange gear would be RE'able into a schematic. However, running around on the test center that didn't seem to be the case. No "Research available" on any oranges I got. I RE'ed it anyway only to get a few mats back.

So I suppose only SOME orange gear is RE'able? I did think Bioware said they'd make all orange stuff that way. Can anyone shed some light on this one for me?

Thanks a whole lot!
