How does MXE compare to DXM?

I recently got a 3rd plateau DXM trip, and I was wondering how the two substances compare, in terms of subjective effects?

Does MXE vary as much as DXM does (i.e. "plateaus"), or is it just one experience that gets more intense as the dose increases?
