How to make green ooze?

I want to add ooze/sticky slime to my plague marines, but I am not too sure how. I was pondering it in my room and I decided to try contact cement with a little bit of thaka green wash mixed it.
this is my result on a very old test model
I like the look, but I am concerned about its durability and whether there were other better methods out there?
