Moving into a new house and need help with paint colors and color arrangement.

We are moving into a new house. Here is a link to an album of pictures of the room(s) we are looking to paint: [1] http://imgur.com/a/wQx3E#0 As you can see, all the walls are stark white and we would like to add some color. Because of the layout (the dining room and living room sharing walls) we are wondering if we should go all one color or if we could do two different with one being an accent wall. I am leaning toward two different with one dark wall (possibly the wall with the fireplace that extends into the dining room) and lighter for the rest.'

Edit: The furniture and window treatments are not ours and will be replaced. We have brown leather couches and will be getting a new dining room set and window treatments.
