People needs to stop spouting this meme. The DR fandom isn't solely the west. There's also Japan over in the east and going by this year's poll, she's still popular over there and has a lot of fans. So saying "most of the fandom hates her" is being culturally ignorant.

Japanese fandom always had Sayaka at the mid-level.
Western fandom hates her.
Look at the DR wiki polls or Tumblr polls for proof, and you'll find she's consistently ranked bottom 5th or even bottom 3rd in the first game. The dynamic is the in-verse of Mukuro's popularity, where the West thinks she's one of the better girls, while the East doesn't care much.
I don't think Sayaka's all that hated on Reddit. Polarizing sure, but I'd say the majority don't care or lean either way with her. But Reddit doesn't represent the majority of the fanbase.
That statement sounds more like click-bait, than an actual belief. I know many people who love Sayaka and will fight Sayaka-dislikers. So anyone who likes Sayaka would probably click on/give such a comment attention. I don’t know if that statement is true in the west. People I talk to like her. Like: “Nanami is waifu bait” etc.

I saw much more Sayaka content than Haiji. I'd say she's more in the middle, some fans, some haters, for most very neutral.
We don't interact with the Japanese fandom though. To us only this side of the fandom exists
