troubs deploying an image- micro SD card related question

heyyo I made an image of a 32 GB Samsung micro SD card and am trying to write to a 32GB SanDisk micro SD, during the imaging process it acts as if everything is good, not getting any errors when writing to it but when I insert the new SD and run my pi it comes up bunk with boot file errors.

The process is typically seamless when R / W to the same type of card so my question is why would different brands of micro SD cards not be capable of reading/writing to each other?
