Trouble with Brooks Ghost 14?
Hoping to get some advice from more experienced runners. I got fitted for a new pair of Brooks Ghost 14 at a running store a few weeks ago.
I have run in them now 4 times and each time my right lower leg (calf/shin) is killing me afterward. It feels like fatigue sets in really fast and my right leg/ankle/foot is moving a ton in my stride.
I’ve tried walking in them in between to break them in a little more.
Is this just a new pair of shoes that need to break in? Should I get a pair insoles? Is this a bad sign for the shoes and I should move on? Any advice?
Prior to this new pair I was running in a pair of New Balance. Usually about 3 times a week, 2.5 to 4 miles depending on the day. I’d had them about a year so figured it was time for a new pair and actually wanted to get fitted. Disappointed that I spent the money on a pair that’s making it harder.
I’m pretty new to running. Started summer 2020 out of pandemic boredom and need to move. Have kept with it and try to run 3+ days a week (haven’t been able to lately because my leg hurts so much).
Thanks for reading. I read the group rules and don’t think this post goes against anything.
