Is it "better" to say 'I love you, I'm just not in love with anymore' or 'I think I'm in love with someone else'?
I'm (33F) going to ask my husband (35M) for a divorce after 6.5 years of marriage. I'm trying to sort out all my thoughts and feelings now so I know exactly what I want to say when telling him. Our lack of communication and intimacy, his unwillingness to help around the house, and irreconcilable differences when it comes to our personality types (me being a extrovert and him an introvert) are all contributing factors to this decision.
I still love and care about him so I don't want to hurt him anymore than the pain that this will naturally cause. I just know I'm not in love with him anymore. With this realization came thoughts and fantasies about someone else though. And while these thoughts and fantasies haven't been acted upon or even discussed with this other person, I can't help having more feelings toward them than my husband.
As reality check, I understand these new feelings could just be me falling for the idea of feeling love again. So, is it better to just leave it at 'I love you, I'm just not in love with you' or to confess that 'I think I may be in love with (or have feelings for) someone else'?
