dating someone with your name?
i don’t spell my name the popular way but it’s pronounced the same way. would you find it weird to date someone with your name ?

My brother dates someone with his name and he said it doesn’t bother him because he doesn’t refer to himself with his name

Personally I think it would be great, but only on the condition she was willing to learn Marley and Marley from the Muppets Christmas Carol and sing it with me at every opportunity. Of course, we'd have to change it to Caitlin and Caitlin!
In fact, I'd like to think she'd learn all the songs from MCC with me, just because it's a great movie and absolutely must be sung along to!

My ex, my ex’s other ex, my current SO, and I all share the same first name. But we each go by a different nickname or diminutive of that name.

My first girlfriend and I had the same first AND middle name haha it was fun talk in the neighbourhood but it didn’t really bother us, you don’t often use someone’s name, and when you do it seems unique to them? Even if it’s the same as yours. (Our name is quite different too! So it’s rare to find 2 lesbian Imogens in one place haha)

I know a lesbian couple that have the same name. They use "Other Name" to refer to their partner.

Hmmm... That's tough. I don't think that I'd mind though. I'd have to call her by her other pet names or nicknames but I think it's definitely doable

I have quite an uncommon first name but I used to joke that I would date a man with my (slightly altered) first name to annoy my parents so why not haha. I don’t see it happening anytime soon but it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker.

I’m a corporate trainer and I get a bit weirded out when I even have a student in my class with my name.
I have a somewhat uncommon name so that probably has something to do with it, but I could never date someone with my name. I’m selfish. It’s mine.

Maybe if one of us doesn't get referred by that name. But if not? Maybe if they seem like the perfect match, but I usually swipe people who share my name left just out of principle.

It makes me feel a certain type of way when I meet girls that I'm attracted to and they have the same name as my friends.

Not at all, I think it would prompt a few jokes between us and others. And it’s rare for me to use given name to refer to loved ones.
