What should I prepare before going to a friend‘s wedding at the church?

I am an Asian. A German friend invited me to her wedding ceremony at the church. I’m very excited about it! But since this is the first time of me attending a German wedding, may I ask for your suggestions on what to wear to attend the ceremony? Also I am wondering whether I should prepare a gift and what gift is appropriate here in Stuttgart?
