Hardcore Wolf Boss Extermination in solo?

Here comes the first real challenge, lads.

The wolf is ridiculously powerful by default. You can't win a fair fight and have to come up with a way to cheat the beast hoping that it gets stuck somewhere.

But now, he's even more powerful. And you have only one attempt. One might think that you need to go for tier 4 items, but you only have 6 hours!

So, I'm scared to touch this mission. I mean, in solo. I guess gathering materials in group is much faster and allows to prepare everything in short time. Then, using several guns and reviving each other I can see how you can get it done.

But in solo, if I try, will my character get deleted in case of a failure? Because I will definitely fail given the buggy nature of the game.

What are your thoughts on how to approach this one?

Stand on a tall rock or build a tall wall to stand on and shoot him Dead

This is the way, even with a group it is the best way I’ve found

Yes and no, make a structure supported by a rock and have redundant support. Also helps if you cantilever out a bit so it doesn’t go under you in a way that makes it easy to damage the support from the point that is closest to you

I did the rock, you can also hit him with a spear btw

I guess you can run the mission with a fresh character to test everything.

Granted it wasnt hardcore, but I did this solo the first time (cheated it by standing on a rock) and when i helped someone i let them go do the objectives while i went straight to the boss area and built wooden platform walkway around the boss zone with guardrails so you couldnt accidentally fall off, we each stood on opposite sides so whoever it was after the other person had clear shots and you could stand together when he went into his cave

Chuck a bed close by so you have spawn point for starters, eliminate the run, just in casr. Fireplaces just outside the dens for burn damage loaded with wood, block dens with stone/wood piles, small tower in the middle with trapdoor, bone arrows, spam it.

Ok, but you can’t spawn in hardcore, that’s the main issue. The solution has to work 100%.

Don't die then :)

Make two or three small towers really close so if one gets wrecked you can jump to the back up ones. Once the wolf is back in the den regenerating you can simply face stab him to death rather quickly .

I made a wooded shack with a window, then I put a wood pile in front of the window with the whole structure ringed with torches. He got stuck on the wood pile while I stood at the window shooting him in the face.

block the den with stockpile wood or stone https://imgur.com/a/KHN6BB4 then you can knife it.
