First time making a jar with a fitting lid! Knob should have probably been smaller but I was in a rush to finish before class ended. I know it’s simple but I’m so proud of it :)

The knob is great and you have a nice spot for some future details. You could carve into it, stamp a design, paint a little underglaze detail or even cap the top a different color than the sides and have it look like a happy little mushroom.

These are great ideas, thank you! I think I’m going to do something with underglaze for this one.

Heck yeah! You have a great form, really! Please do share when you finish it, I know we would all love to see what you decide to do from here.

It's a pleasant shape. How are you going to glaze it?

Thanks! I honestly don’t know yet, any ideas?

This is one of my goals. I want to practice throwing next semester and make a jar like this. I was thinking of making a bunch of pie beads and a jar to put them in.

Your jar is awesome and I hope you post again when it's glazed.

Thank you, I will!

You should be proud. That is not a simple form to achieve. It is lovely.

Perfect 😍

I like it a lot! It looks balanced and nice. I know tiny knobs are popular but I like this size. 😄

Tangential, but thought you might appreciate: this ceramacist I follow on Instagram, Mitchell Spain, does threaded ceramic caps! Intense. Oh! They made a guide about it. I just love it all, simple or complex. Keep going!

That’s fascinating, thanks for sharing!

It looks amazing! You did a realy good job! I know exactly how hard it is as I have never been able to throw a good fitting lid.

That's beautiful. I'm really picky about proportions and shapes and stuff (yay actual ocd), and what you made is something even my picky brain would want in my kitchen.
