I understand the frustration. But it's not in their hands. They're not screwing ppl over intentionally. The whole world is on backorder with shipping delays for over a year already. This is frustrating, but it will all be okay.

Yep, I'm not blaming them necessarily. I was fine waiting the ~1.5 months, but if I'm waiting another ~1.5 months I'd rather just go for something else.

I could spend $200 more for a simagic alpha mini, which is 10nm and in-stock.

This is a joke. I don't order exactly this reason. I want a 5nm CSL DD, but I won't prepay half a year. They should sort out stock and then sell it.

Use that half a year to save up for something better

I don't have space for a rig, so I can't buy stuff with higher torque, and I'm kinda a casual simracer, so it would be great for me. But I will wait until stock came.
Also looking forward if TM will announce it's (probably lightweight) DD base and then I will see.

Purchased 12/1 with original availability date of 1/10. I get some delays, but a month and a half later?
What do you all recommend instead? I was buying a full setup - CSL DD 8nm, clubsport wheel r330, clubsport pedals v3, sq shifter. Anything decent in that price range?

Iām order 1324. Iāve been waiting for 3 months since September. My order still has not shipped.

Did you also get an email that your shipment will be delayed? If not, that might be a sign that your gear is actually "prioritized" and they're just pushing all orders after a certain date off that ship that's supposedly bringing them in ;)

Nope! Did not get this email today about a delay until February. Do you think this means I might be in the cutoff and could receive mine soon?

Can't say for sure on timing (nobody really knows at this point), but if you didn't get that email then I think you're safer than those of us who did. Fingers crossed you gets yours soon!

I know itās frustrating but if you have something setup for your sim racing already, just wait. Iāve not tried the CSL DD but had the T300 followed by the CSW 2.5 and currently having the DD1. Before I took the jump to DD1 i tried the Simagic at a distributor and the DD at my friendās. If i have to compare the FFB fidelity between simagic and DD1, Iād say one feels ārubberyā like an paintball gun while the other feels sharp like an M16.
Iāve seen many posts saying they switched to SM cos of the delays and while I donāt feel nice saying they might regret it, i hope you donāt make that decision while you still have a chance.
Not all DDs are built the same so maybe the sim alpha mini can be good too, just not simagic IMO. Maybe the simagic needs some tweaking but iād imagine the distributor wouldāve tweak the setup optimally.

Simagic is the company, they make the alpha, alpha mini, and soon the alpha ultimate (going off leaks) They used to make the M10, which was a budget direct drive by base that used a stepper motor. Both current bases use a servo motor, and from the leaks so does the up coming ultimate base.
Perhaps you have used the M10? Or the site didn't have the settings dialed in correctly? Barry at sun reaching garage actually appeared pretty positive about the alpha mini in his review, and he has reviewed so many bases.

Just did a google. Yer I tried the M10. It was not good IMO. Thanks for correcting me on that. Yer alpha mini has good reviews which is why Iām tempted to try. Didnāt connect that itās from simagic cos the impression I got from M10 was pretty bad.

Yeah the first one was for a budget (I think when it launched it was $749.99), and appeared to be built to one to get there in terms of motor. From my googling, it seemed to be the best bang for the buck at that price until the newer bases launched. The alpha line looks pretty good, and I'm thinking of going down that route myself, but if I can stretch out my budget a bit, the VRS seems to be the pick of the bunch.

There are pretty crazy shipping delays especially if you are in the US. I saw an article that finally Halloween decorations were being unloaded and Disneyland was also slow on restocking Christmas decorations. [I had to run around all over Disneyland earlier this month looking for the Mickey head Christmas decorations].
Fanatec probably shouldnāt have taken deposits so easily. Especially since freight issues were known back in late summer.

Sorry for the delay btw op. It sucks but itās worth the wait. If not wanting to wait, everybody seems to enjoy the Simagic Alpha Mini, so perhaps worth considering.

No worries - that's how I felt when I first ordered. I knew I was going to have to wait, and I was ok with it. But if I had known from the beginning I'd have to wait 3 months, I might have made a different decision - worse being, now that it's the holiday season nothing is in stock, and I might have had a better shot at getting something else earlier if I had ordered at that time.
It's definitely not the end of the world and I didn't mean to start a flame war in here. I agree with the people who say "if you don't want to wait, just cancel your order" - I was willing to wait a certain amount of time, and the extended delay really just gives me additional perspective on what I'd like.

Yeah I donāt really get the flame war either. I understand the frustration, but the flaming wonāt solve it.
And yeah, didnāt consider the limited options now with holiday seasons. That sucks.
I only owned a G920 and now the CSL DD and can highly recommend waiting if you donāt mind the waiting too much. Good luck in whatever the decision will be and happy holidays :)

What? No way! When did you order and when was the original estimated delivery day? Mine was ordered on 1st November, was supposed to come at 4th January but got pushed to 24th, if I get this email as well pushing it yet another month then I will 100% have ample time to gather extra cash for Simucube 2 pro.

I ordered 12/1 and the original estimate was 1/10. Just sucks because I've seen people order way after me and are getting their orders processed.
I think I'm going to cancel my order and go with the simagic alpha mini. It's a bit of a pain having to get different pieces of gear from different places, but maybe this was a blessing in disguise.

As long as they selling in your area. I'm not going this route because they don't sell it in EU right now and if I had to buy normal alpha I rather save even more for Simucube

I'm in the US. It seems like the email went out in one wave, so while I can't say for sure, if you didn't get the email yet there's a chance you won't get it.

Thanks, I just received an email from Fanatec saying that my product is in the warehouse and will be with me shortly (it was meant to arrive on jan 22). Maybe theyāre distributing the products that were meant to be going to NA throughout Europe?

Same email concerning black Friday p1 V2 wheel. Availability was Dec 4. not next year. Fanatec is pimping the system. I'm cancelling my whole order and not spending more on DD1 or DD2 like some. What exactly does availability mean to Fanatec. No reprocussions for their actions. Black Friday sale without the items. Pro scammers shouldn't charge my card until item ships. Need a class action lawsuit.

To be fair, they still keep saying āAvailability date: Jan 24, 2022ā and not āpreliminary/estimated dateā or whatever wording is usually used, even tho they really have no idea, and have first hand experience with the unreliability of these dates.
It might sound like just semantics, but they are actively misleading their customers with these availability dates.
Edit: just to make it clear, Iām now saying theyāre doing it on purpose. Theyāre probably showing dates of next shipments even tho all the products on that boat are already sold.
They seem to have horrible CRM systems. I now get order confirmations and updates about two orders I placed a year ago, almost weekly.

Not the person you asked, but I would 100% cancel one of my orders if it wasn't stuck in the warehouse having been 'processed'. It has been in this state for 3 weeks and as a result I can't cancel it. If I could cancel that order I'd also cancel my CSL DD order due in Jan.

Even Amazon is multiple days late, should I sue them as well? Say Amazon is 5 days late because of holidays and cargo shippings. Thatās 5x the length they promised, is that anything different tan what you are getting?

Never had an Amazon item in stock delayed. No stock on Amazon equals no sale. And if if was a fifth we all be drunk. Lawsuits sometime are about policy change not monetary gains. Still waiting for examples where we tolerate this elsewhere?

I agree with you, this is fishy. I get the shipping delays because of the holidays. I get the availability issues due to the current climate. But communication is terrible, the dates they give are arbitrary, and we're just expected to let them hold onto our money for who knows how long.
What are you looking at instead? I'm willing to spend a couple hundred extra dollars for a completely different setup, as I'm considering canceling my entire order as well.

Happy with my CSL elite +, McLaren wheel and CSL pedals. Only on console. Only 1 wheel sucks. Ordered CSL DD pro as a want not a need. We don't accept these practices anywhere only with Fanatec. Amazon gets goods to me overnight if necessary, Fanatec knew what they were planning to sale before Black Friday. What was the point of a counter if you had zero on hand. I can't complain and reward them (Fanatec) with my hard earned cash.

It sucks man, but it's out of their control for the most part. The only other thing loosely in the general area is the sim alpha mini or be patient and wait.
After 2 years industry make excuses for pandemic delays.Its simple the demand is higher than supply.They grab the money and simple they deliver products after 2-3 months.I was in this situation with RTX 3070 that final was cancelled.Waste of time and the money š¤ at their bank account.
Blaming the pandemic is incorrect, but there is are massive global logistics problems right now. Ships are sitting outside the port of LA and Long Beach for a month waiting to get docked and unloaded, there are massive trucker shortages to take the containers out of the yard, and there is big demand for consumer products. Itās not simply Fanatec, though I donāt agree with their practice of charging peopleās cards for backordered products. Most other sim companies Iāve ordered backordered stuff for doesnāt get charged until it ships.
This is the issue at hand. Cali has issues keeping ports open because the unions don't allow for 24 hr throughout and the laws being put up for truckers pushes them away from the state. A few simple changes could help solve the issue because even with Florida offering it's ports that's not entirely feasible due to the distance down to and back from Panama combined with other issues.
Not to mention many of the largest container ships donāt even fit through the Panama Canal and would have to sail around South America
In EU also their is backorders.Fanatec is in Germany, usually in take 5 days for orders to get in Greece.I had made an order from Fanatec and delayed 3.5 months.The problem with them is that they sell products that they don't have manufacture,we don't say about stock.
