Second most punchable face in Australian politics after the one and only ScoMo.

Glad they brought back the mask requirements. It was utterly baffling they removed them in the first place but at least they had a little bit of common sense kick in now.

Flyerone•

Personal responsibility unless you're riding a pushbike without a helmet, then we'll fine you.

18
macstaOP•

If you get a brain injury and need constant care for the rest of your life, society will take care of you, even if it costs millions.

The only condition is that you take the obvious precaution of wearing a helmet when riding certain vehicles.

That's a very good deal for you. Don't be a pillock about it.

I was making a comparison around the government's"personal responsibility" bullshit, not declaring a position on helmets. Who's paying for the ICU beds? Certainly not the non mask wearing unvaxxed making up the majority of patients.

16
Distinct-Window566•

Ummm everyone that pays tax pays for those beds, so unless the “non mask” wearers don’t have a job that comment makes you look stupid 👀

-1
AnArousedKoalaAU•

Please let's be real. The numbers of antivaxx don't contribute much to the public coffers, and with their reckless disregard of safety they probably cost more than they're worth.

Most probably don't even pay tax because they don't earn enough.

ninja574r•

We need to mandate helmets in cars too. So many brain/head injuries from hitting the steering wheel, pillars, flying objects etc etc in accidents and we have to pay millions. I'm baffled as to why they haven't been introduced yet

4
macstaOP•

Between seat belts and airbags, there's already a lot of protection for heads. (Restraining the body protects the head)

Helmets restrict vision, hearing, and movement. On the race track that doesn't matter, it's all in front of you. But in suburban traffic losing those things is a big threat to your safety.

Helmets in enclosed vehicles? Never gonna happen, sorry.

Helmets restrict vision, hearing, and movement

So why the fuck should a cyclist be legally mandated to wear one. Helmet laws restrict the number of cyclists an area will have, any city that provides safe infrastructure has much lower rates of cycling incidents per capita. But hey yeah I'm sure the rest of the world's wrong, us aussie got it all good.

1
offshoredawn•

never do anything dangerous. that's the important take away...

3
macstaOP•

You were so close. Never do anything stupid.

4
ezmen•

There are more brain injuries related to car accidents than bicycles. Should we be legally mandated to wear helmets? Maybw even a neckbrace while driving?

Jeez chant looks like she's gonna murder him lol

I find it interesting they've moved the briefings to a new location (still in/near RNSH?).

Bring back Gladys. The wind is becalmed and the ship is faltering.

Gladys will be back. When she's prosecuted for corruptly misusing the power of her office, she'll be back on the telly every day.

3
VDD_Stainless•

Prosecuted, haha that's a good one.

2
Oni47•

That's great. Meanwhile, this muppet watches on as the pandemic escalates because he relaxed the rules too quickly. But DJs get to have their boxing day sale as the libs try to win the election. Misuse use of power? You need to break some eggs to make an omelette.

I actually think yesterday’s press conference and the whole plan is really good.

People do need to take personal responsibility. There doesn’t have to be a mask mandate for you to wear a mask. It shouldn’t have to be mandated to look out for your community

0
r2slow•

I think we should exclude people from society if their BMI is too high and mandate a government set diet / exercise program. This would eliminate a large number of preventable deaths.

boofinsand•

So your saying it's a flu 😷👍🤬✅

-13
boofinsand•

O dear the vacination is working so well ! Don't tell me they lied to everyone ? It Must be the tiny percentage of unvaxxed spreading it ? O hang on all started with fully vaccinated at a night club in Newcastle ✅

-24
fuuuuuckendoobs•

You have seen the graphs on efficacy and understand how that works right?

5
boofinsand•

You know right 95% of the country is vaxxed and the numbers keep rising it's working well Polio vaccination = you don't get polio And tetanus vacination = you don't get tetanus See how vacination works ✅

-13
fuuuuuckendoobs•

Flu vaccine isn't effective against all variants and doesn't remain effective over time, what's your point?

6
macstaOP•

Pretty much a troll you're talking to, don't expect an intelligent reply
