Can you play HZD on PS5 external drive?
So I bought an external drive for my PS5, but read that only PS4 games can be played off it. Since HZD still says PS4 after the patch update, does that count?

You can run any PS4 game directly from external hdd. Any fps update will work just fine without the need to copy the game to console storage.

You definitely can, but the area load times are cut in half if you run it from the SSD—I timed it and they went from about a minute to about half a minute.

I guess I’d better learn to be patient then, because I know I’ll be running out of space after HFW comes out. Thanks for the timing info, tho!

You could play HZD from the internal until you run out of space, since you can move them whenever you want. Of course, if you keep playing after the move, the slowness of the area loads may drive you mad. :-)

HZD is a ps4 game so yes it should be playable from an external drive. The patch just unlocks the framerate
