Perfume that smells like a farm?

Perfume - Enquiry

Hello! I'm trying to find a perfume that smells like all the good parts of a farm. Basically, some notes I'm looking for include: hay, honeysuckle, and wood smoke (like from a wood burning furnace). I'd also be interested in something with grass, dirt, milk/cream notes, or for anything that smells a bit like silage.

Thanks for any recommendations or thoughts! These scents are all super nostalgic for me, so it'd be really cool to find something that brings back childhood memories.

Thanks for the great list! Cabin and Corn Maze sound really good to me, I'll have to check them out when I can.

Alkemia's Roll in the Hay gave me farm vibes to the point that I found it unwearable.

Same! I literally just retested it for the final time yesterday and noted on my excel sheet "Smells so accurately like warm hay bales steaming in the sun that it makes me realise I don't actually want to smell like hay".

Edit: Should also note that it wears ridiculously long. It's been slightly more than 24 hours since I tested it yesterday and I can still smell it very faintly on my wrist. So if you're into photorealistic hay smells, I highly recommend.

It's an impressively authentic perfume, but, yes, I also do not want to smell like hay.

Nui Cobalt’s First Harvest: Grain - The earthy scent of oatstraw and hay drying in the late-summer fields.

Death and Floral’s Buried Beneath the Shallow Hay - Aging barn wood, the musk of a lingering spirit, old and weathered hay bales.

Both excellent :)

Agreed on buried beneath the shallow hay

Oh man, I saw the title of your post and thought you were looking for the less pretty scents from a farm. I immediately got flashbacks of poopy chicken coops and driving by cow pastures. I had to see what you meant, and I'm glad I was very mistaken.

I thought the same, and I actually had a perfume in mind!

Do tell!

That would be Fantome - Faun (Opens with a deceptive hint of sweetness from neroli, grapefruit, and iris—then deepens into dark vetiver, oakmoss swirled in amber, and hints of animalic musk). I like Fantome, they have some perfumes I really enjoy, but Faun absolutely smells like a cow shed on me.

Haha, while those are also nostalgic smells in their own way... not quite what I was wanting to remember lmao!!

First thing that came to mind is Astrid’s Ode to a Crazy Farmer Lady. Notes are apple orchard accord, hay, cold milk, honeycomb, 4H fair cotton candy and Seville lavender. She also had ode to a crazy horse lady which may interest you as well!

Ode to a crazy horse lady smells just like fly spray to me!

This sounds intriguing because I love the smell of fly spray but it looks like this perfume was a limited release.

Solstice Scents Riverside Hayride is all dirt and hay to me.

Funny it smells like straight up apple juice to me lol.

Raxeira from Alkemia (a golden ray of amber piercing like sunlight through a barn window, illuminated motes of sawdust rising on woody aldehydes, old newspapers, dusty vetiver, orris root, dried leather harnesses and a faint touch of saddlesoap)

An amazingly realistic and very wearable barn! I absolutely love this scent.

Mountain Vanilla! šŸ‘šŸ» Can’t believe I forgot that one.

I'm surprised no one has recommended Andromeda's Curses' Black Phillip (Pink Pepper, Dirt, Chypre, Hay Bale, Moss, Butter, Black Musk, Dusty Wood, Musk, Oakmoss, Incense). There was a post a long while ago looking for a "clean barn" smell and I think this was the person's favorite one she tried out of the recommendations? I know I love it. It's a musky hay smell that reminds me of being on a farm with horses.

Cocoa pinks snake in the grass literally smells like a farm to me. I actually made a comment about it a few days ago. It smells like hay and greenness.

8
confusedinsomniac•

Solstice Scents High Desert is a desert scent but its hay note is photorealistic on me!!! Would really recommend as a "musty hay but make it perfume" scent.

Astrid heart of horse (Warm and enveloping sandalwood, tonka bean, hay absolute, velvety red musk, oakmoss, black pepper, and vanilla.)

Really smells like a barn to me a lotttt. It maintains that barn vibe while also being cozy. It’s not currently available I don’t think - so might be a good one to seek out in the Sunday requests and try ~

I’ll also throw in another recommendation for alkemia’s raxeria ~ it’s a bit shrill when you first put it on, but very unique with the saddle soap

8
hugbeam•

Maybe Fantomes Vasilisa? Very beeswax and warm hay forward.

8
StevieNickedMyself•

My friend said Alkemia's Dustsceawung smelled field-like.

7

For silage specifically, maybe Solstice Scents During the Rain. I had my mom (who grew up on a farm, and apparently was less fond of the smell) try it and the association was so strong she wanted to wash it off.

5
new_eclipseOP•

My mom has always loved it! I feel like it's one of those gasoline-type smells, where you either love it or completely loathe it.
