The Pixel 6 Is A Bug Filled Mess
I've had my Pixel 6 since launch. I was extremely excited to give it a try after being with Samsung for my past two phones. I say this to say, I'm not some iPhone user who this is their first experience with Android. I wanted to love this phone and love stock Android.
Instead what I've been given is the absolute worst phone experience I've ever had. Let's ignore Android 12 for a moment, which has it's own issues, this was Google's attempt at finally having a flagship phone and instead what we've been given is a phone that's even worse after the December update.
We had a very poor working fingerprint sensor that supposedly was fixed in December but now the fingerprint sensor just doesn't register touch sometimes with AOD and you have to power up the screen first. We have Bluetooth that randomly disconnects multiple times throughout the day. And now my absolute biggest bug that has cropped up since the December update : The camera app crashes or freezes on launch.
This post has been brewing for awhile now with all the constant bugs and minor things I haven't even mentioned but I was reminded just how terrible the software is when today of all days I can't even take pictures with it. The phone legit has a pop up that says I should power off and back on the phone. Well that doesn't work either Google.
I cannot for the life of me understand how Google, the freaking company behind Android, can have so many bugs on their flagship phone. They screwed up trying to force the Android 12 launch at the same time as the Pixel 6. They rushed it and didn't spend enough time doing QA and now we are all paying the price being the beta testers for them. Fool me once but I'll never buy another Pixel device. At this point I'm thinking about possibly just switching back to my S10 while I wait on the new Samsung phones.
I could not imagine Google screwing up this launch worse than they did. Such an utter, absolute disappointment.

Not disputing your experience, but I'm experiencing none of those things. Might be time for a factory reset.
Was thinking the same thing, I'm on the December update and have had none of the issues OP mentioned and haven't seen them really reported elsewhere either.
Consider yourself lucky. I'm having a dreadful experience also since the December update. Worst experience I've ever had with any phone.
Same! My whole phone crashes and asks for a factory reset Everytime I connect my Bluetooth headphones
Make sure you go to MadebyGoogle Facebook and Twitter pages and complain about it too. The more people see complaints the more pressure on Google to fix it.
I plan on doing a factory reset when I change phones. There's nothing to dispute, look at the long list of posts from people experiencing the same issues as me. Either everyone just decided to fake complain about the Pixel 6 or this thing has a ton of bugs for a lot of people.
I'm happy you haven't experienced any of these issues. I firmly believe you will start noticing some of them if you keep using your phone.
I've been on Nexus and Pixel devices for over 10 years, and I use my phones HARD. If those bugs were happening on my device, I would notice them.
This is a phone subreddit. Of course there are complaints. If you run a support site, do you expect lots of people to call you up just to say everything is fine?
There are definitely folks experiencing real issues (like the ones you've described). But this is, for all intents and purposes, a first-gen device that's 2 months into its lifespan. Of course there are issues. I'm not saying you're not allowed to be frustrated, but it's important to temper your expectations. The SoC is brand new. I could bore you for hours with stories of the weird bugs from early Snapdragon and Exynos devices.
Temper my expectations?!?!?! You mean like having the expectation that the fingerprint sensor in my phone works when I try to use it? The expectation that my Bluetooth will stay connected like it does on every other device I've ever used? The expectation that the camera app can actually launch and take pictures???
If I need to temper my expectations any more than they already are then I'd be using a flip phone. Which is basically what my phone has turned into now that even the camera app is crashing. This is inexcusable from Google the company who creates and updates Android
Again, not saying that isn't frustrating.
If you want to continue living with the bugs, that's your call. If you want to try something that might fix it, factory reset.
Just factory reset now, it will at least fix the camera app issue
I've had a 6 pro since launch,.my wife too. The fingerprint reader was not good but the December update makes it good. We have not seen any of the other problems. We only use Bluetooth in the car but it never drops out. Not a single problem with the camera. I think you should return yours.
Also not experiencing one single issue. Had a P6Pro for a little before my P6 and didn't have any issues with that either.
Factory reset after after two months of use and two updates ?.....wow....
Wrong frame. Reframe: factory reset after consistent bugs that are killing the user experience.
It was ironically said that such a "great" device as the Pixel 6 requires a factory reset after two months. Maybe it's not so good ... that was the point
