Is it ok if my writing process involves not writing?

What do you guys think? I want to "just write," but when I do I find I do a lot of other stuff instead, like video games. Is it OK if I want to be a writer but I don't write?

Whenever I try to type "just write," it autocompletes as "just STFU". I'm not sure what that means.

Like "Social Influencer" and "Blogger," being a "Writer" requires no actual qualifications or training. Anyone can sit in a Starbucks with a latte and laptop and say, "I'm a Writer." There are more "Writers" who are "working on something" than actually finishing something. So go ahead and enjoy the thrill of being a "Writer" in the full knowledge that as long as you post on Reddit now and again you're technically writing!

Movies are more glamorous than books. I think I'll call myself a screenwriter.

If you're not writing, you're not a writer.

I am writing chores to do every day. Therefore I am a writer.

You precious soul! Of course this is okay! Some of the best writers in the world are the ones who don't write at all. You are VALID ☺️

Think about what you would like to write. Now you can tell everyone your an author. "My book is self published. It's all in my head." 🏆
