Freshman from California: questions

Hey redditors, as the title says, I am a freshman that is considering U of Illinois for engineering. Initially I wanted to stay in Cali and go to UCSD, but my family raged at me to go to Illinois for engineering so I will be visiting next week I think. I have a couple questions:

1. How is the weather and social life?

2. I am a fairly social person and would like to have a somewhat party life; is that existent here?

3. Is Urbana a nice city in general? I know several schools with great campuses but crappy surroundings.

4. As an asian american, I hope to be around some asians that are not only concerned with studying- are those existent as well? Thank you :) - California scum
