Razer v2 wolverine chroma stick drift

Question:

Bought this controller about 2 weeks ago and came with drift on both sticks after setting the deadzones in the razer software to minimum and deadzones in halo on 0. I even have to set my deadzones to a higher value than my original xbox controller. (3.5 move and 5 look) Am i overreacting if im thinking about returning it? Cost for the controller was 160€ Does a controller with zero drift actually exist? Im not sure what to do i really like the feel of it and the extra bumper buttons.

Where did you buy it? I was wondering and had heard they fixed issues with the newer batches. Was told to order off the Razer site.

Where did you hear this?

so I have this controller and I’m not gonna lie mine came with stick drift out of the box aswell but it was only after I adjusted the deadzones on the pc software. I run the controller thru steam big picture mode with the lowest possible deadzone and am on the second to last deadzone option for the razer pc software. After I copied sen frosty’s Aimer the controller works amazingly. Some problems I’ve noticed with the controller is there are some Issues with the triggers stops and the usb c connector honestly for 160$ it’s def not worth. If you can still find a v1 for 80$ and get the warranty you can return that one as defective. That’s how I got my v2 for 80$ with free warranty and an extra 33$ back in my pocket. The v1 is confirmed defective out of box.

The connection is oddly loose for USB C on mine, which makes me a bit worried however it hasn't caused any problems thus far. No trigger stop problems to report.

Just curious, what do you mean by copied Frosty's aimer?

Mb, I went to his twitch stream and copied his sens. Mb I’ve been lurking in cod players streams I started typing like one of em

No worries, figured that's what you meant, bit wasn't sure if he started using this controller or something

Bro, I’m not saying I keep up with everyone’s sen’s all the time but last I checked which was just a week ago Frosty’s center dead zone and axial dead zones were at 5… No shit you’re not going to have drift with those settings.

Honestly I don’t think people realize how dead ones work, it’s not like the max input dead zone where 15 means the smallest movement is essentially max thumb stick movement. 5 is honestly nothing, we are talking about minuscule movement/adjustment that aren’t actually natural/no one is making in game. Meaning there’s really no real difference between 5 and 0 unless.

These had inbuilt drift issues iirc. They released a software fix for them recently, try googling or youtube it and you should find it.

eswap nxg sticks should have minimal drift and are easily replaceable. I was looking at that and the v2 chroma for the extra bumpers, but my elite 2 is still fine and has very little drift

Shit, the elite 2 is honestly one of the biggest offenders, I’ve had to return WAY too many, it’s actually kind of sad because I never had a problem with the 1 or the special edition white one. If you managed to find a good elite 2, hang on to it and treat it very nice, that’s all I’m going to say.

For what it's worth I've been using mine for about 2.5 months with 0 drift so far

Did you lower the deadzones in your razer app?

1
Fr3shRadish•

Yep, both at 0. I guess I should say that one stick absolutely 0 drift and the other has the tiniest bit of jitter in the app, but it's so small it doesn't register in game at all even with deadzones at 0

Cool thx, ill return this one then and ask for an other

Yeah, personally don't think 3.5/5 is horrible, but definitely worse than mine, which I've had since end of October.

Where did you order yours from?

Best buy

Could be just me, but I don't think stick drift is that big of a deal. Also depends how much there is.

Didnt really bother me on my standard controller but i feel that for a controller that costs 160 you can expect it to have none. Especially out of the box.

All controllers drift and will need different deadzones, i just move them around until it feels responsive, without drifting a crazy amount. Although i let my sticks drift a tiny bit, because stick movement is what activates aim assist.

Yea same but only for look stick move stick I need to up dz

CAPSLOCK1127•

Exact same.

It would have to be rare for any stick to have near-perfect drift consistently for its lifetime, so having an aim style reliant on micro dead zones is a risky proposition anyway.

But if you can get away with swapping out for a better one, fuck it, do it.

I bought the Wolverine v1 and it has drift on 0 dead ones too. I honestly would expect any controller to have a bit of drift on absolute 0 deadzones and the Wolverine v1 is still a fantastic purchase. Basically $80 for an elite

Had it for around 2 years and it has slight drift now but it’s so little it doesn’t matter and only is really present on super low deadzones that I don’t play on
