I’ve been playing since launch and I just now got my first Best Buddy, nothing unusual, just wanted to show off the big fat turd pig that will lead my Ground-Type army

How to get best buddies:

1. every day feed your buddy three berries, take a photo, and play with it. Repeat berry feeding every 1-3 hours.

2. while buddy has berries in it, do a battle. You can do raid, team rocket, gym, league, or training (!!!). Training is favorite for when lazy since you don’t have to fight or win - just let the computer kill you. No revive needed! Get three hearts per day.

3. walk! If you are training for a 10k+, feed berries a few hours before so that when walking you have max all other hearts.

4. when you max all hearts for the day AND walk like 10-12km, your buddy gets excited and you can earn twice the hearts.

5. buddy full on hearts for the day? Swap in another Pokémon and repeat.

My son and I have a steady rotation of two to three Pokémon that we swap in for buddy morning, evening, and night. Have 13 BB and counting. Fav is our four star maxed out Mewtwo.

Efficiently, I do not know, since this Mamoswine (then a Swinub) has been my buddy for half a year or so. I imagine it’s a lot easier with smaller Pokémon (easier to summon), for one, but maxing out Slash’s CP made the “battle together” hearts a cinch since she’d always be on my battling team anyway lol

Isn’t it adorable? I was delighted to find that its best buddy badge is an eyebrow piercing.

As for the pose, it was a reward for completing the Hoopa’s Arrival collection challenge from several months back, I had to Google it because I honestly didn’t remember that one at all lol
