It's always those ah 'accurate' Australian speed guns that clock these speeds.
BBL speedguns are particularly cooked, they usually over measure by 5-10 km/h
Hasnain also hit like 156kph in cpl a couple years back. And also 150+ in domestic t20 tourny
Man is genuinely quick
Oops. This match is from 8th January. My bad.
Did it few years ago in PSL too, right?
CPL
He seems very talented but loses the plot whenever the batsmen starts attacking.
Hope he can consistently get his pace on the 150 kph mark.
Good news for him is that most BBL batsmen dont know how to attack
Even better news for him is that the sixes everywhere else he gets tonked land like 5-8 meters from the boundaries in Australia.
I would just love for someone to break akhtar's record, idk why but i dont just like him.
No one has the daleri and ability to give a phainta like shoaib bhai
Godzilla had a stroke trying to read that and fucking died
Exactly. Fear the might of the Akhtari phainta that could slay even Godzilla!
Given how all the other sports records keep getting improved on in every decade or so. I'm suprised we don't have a batch of bowlers threatening that record.
Not even a single bowler pushing 160. 155 seems to be the peak.
tbh that's alot to do with training and mindset. no coach no longer says just bowl quick and quicker... maybe we would have gotten it if people didn't care so much about variations and concerns for injuries
The small handful of people even capable of it would have to train specifically to do it, that's what Akhtar did, possibly at the detriment of his career and fitness. Wasn't instrument error, Akhtar was unreal.
Archer could possibly have pushed for it pre injury, maybe Nortje too. It increases the chance of injury so much though, and with the amount of cricket they need to play it just isn't a realistic goal. Hell even maintaining 150 is pretty unrealistic these days, not enough rest and conditioning time.

You're wrong. Lee and Tait also hit the 160 mark. And Akhtar broke the 100 mph mark twice.
Pretty sure the Lee one was dodgy instrument, he was more around the 94 mark on quick days. Tait I'm not sure. Akhtar definitely broke 100. He basically trained for a year to do it too.
Tait & Lee has done it too. Jeff Thomo would’ve been right up there if we’ve had speed meter back in the day. Entirely possible
I guess starc touched 160 against kiwi in test

Screenshot skill 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Must have the Joffra Archer speed guns installed
A SL U-19 bowler apparently bowled a 175 KMPH ball.
Then they found out that the speed gun was not calibrated correctly.
Now no one knows what the actual speed was.
Point being?
Bowling speed World Record which is with Akhtar might have gone to him
You can get a rough idea of whether the speedometer was being legitimate or not by looking at the bowler's average speed. If some bowler can't even hit 150 normally and ends up hitting 175 kmh out of nowhere, I would be inclined to doubt the technology.
Just read an article online a few days back that mentioned this 175, that's all. Can only recall that it also talked about Hasnain casually clocking 155 KMPH in BBL, and Akhtar holding the official WR (163.3 IIRC).
I know Hasnain's speeds were likely legit because I was watching that match on & off and saw him take the tailenders out, with frequent 150+ speeds.
wow thats impressive. Maybe if you water-cooled him, he'd clock even faster. oh wait, this isn't r/pcmasterrace
his action lools dodgy seems like he chucks the ball
He's a pacer man
take a side on look of his action hes bending the arm higher than 15° and is jerking his elbow which is where hes getting his pace kind of like shabbir ahmed. With that faulty action of his genuinely suprised to see him bowl that fast with a straight arm.
😂😂
Gotta get Nortje there
How exactly is it pronounced? I hear Nokia or Nortia..
Neither of those. Norkear
Not even that is 100% it's pronounce as ee not ea, and you have to roll the r.
Roll it like with de Bruyne?
Where the fuck did the K sound come from? Do spellings not matter anymore
Closest I can come up with is Norrkia. Heavy rolling of the "R"
Is it different in dutch? As I remember my ex dutch colleague pronounced her name Maartje as Maarchiea or something like that.
I think you're confusing the pronunciation. There's no M in his name. It's pronounced like English except the "tj" has a k sound and then it's just accent.
