To be crazy to write

To be crazy to write
You truly become one
With the purpose to write
And write
Every emotion
That escapes the Vessel of your mind
While you drink
While you shit
While you shiver to death

While you do anything
And everything
Write.
Not all
Some of it might
Shake the world
That
That hope
Amidst drowning despair
And soaring sadness
Is
To be crazy to write

Does it work?
Know not I
Asylums Madhouses rot
(With those who sought elysiums
And have,
In perceptions owned)
With people who became
One
While History
Applauds some after death
For their entirety
For their madness

And I
I walk on that thin line
Between
Confidence and delusion

Oh, hi there; didn't see you! You've reached r/OCPoetry. This is a workshop site where you can share, read, and talk about eachother's poetry & etc. To post your own poems, you need to give feedback to 2 other writers. If you aren't trying to share, you're encouraged to give feedback, but aren't required. Try to be nice, questioning, and specific. If you can't do that - eat a cabbage and come back later. Try to give feedback to a writer without any feedback. Lastly, read our feedback guide , other writer's comments, or this author’s feedback links. If you still aren't sure whether your comments are useful ‘feedback’, or you have any other questions, send us a modmail!

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

So there's this interesting concept that crops up in people with bipolar/manic episodes called loose associations. And while yes mental disorders aren't for romanticising, this idea of finding links between words and ideas that aren't immediately apparent to others is basically the backbone of poetry. So there's certainly a connection of some sort between "madness" and writing. And we don't have to be mad to find them
