Leather covers, how do I stop the bleeding?

Use vegetable tanned leather covers, like THESE.
Vegetable tanned leathers can still colour transfer. E.g https://www.grace-gordon.com/pages/leather-care. I’m pretty sure any leather can do it.
The link you posted specifically says that they apply their dye into an unfinished vegetable tanned leather, so yes, they bleed depending on how much dye is applied.
If you do it correctly, or wipe it down enough, the bleeding stops.
Thanks for looking into it though, I wasn’t aware since I don’t dye the leather.
Maybe I wasn’t clear, I was looking for a way to make this one work.
You can try leave it out in the sun for days at a time and hope all the oil dries up, then you end up with a very dry leather that will most likely crack.
Ok so there’s no wax or sealant or something that will stop this. Guess I’ll go back to my bulky Lochby cover. I like to use all the pages.
Try experimenting with it if you plan on going back to the other, it’s affordable leather and you’d be the only one to see the inside so it won’t be noticeable.
It’s just happens to be oily tanned leather.
Good luck!
Downvoted because I don't want to buy another cover. WTF.
Mine does it too. Luckily it's just the back page. Sometimes the front cover gets a little on it also.
Does it lessen over time? I don't mind a little, but this is pretty excessive considering how little pressure I put on it.
Mine got better over time. This happened with my new cover for maybe the 1st year of use, then gradually faded away
Apply pressure
It’s getting 8-10 hours of continuous right cheek pressure with a sheet of scratch paper inside for the near future. Seems to be helping.
Mine got MUCH better over time. I don’t have any bleeding issues. Also, veg tan leather.
If it's oiled, use soap and water, then wipe it down with rubbing alcohol. After that, just use it. Eventually it will stop.
I’m not a leather expert but isn’t this extremely bad for the leather?
Buy leather goods that aren't oiled leather.
