just a silly idea

ability for villagers to deconstruct a building to get return of recources minus percentage

but that exact villager could build the same building at the discounted price

imagine extra cheap lumber camps, the ecology!

and a unique tech for faster rebuilding, so AoE4 Terran-Mongols, build a castle, pack it into a vil, drop a castle

oh no I'm getting sober

The builders from one race in Warcraft 3 had this ability, they would reconstruct the building and you would get like 30% of the cost back, was pretty nice when Gold was running out.
It ist super niche but could be useful sometimes I guess?

Undead, I thought it was 50% of the cost though?

You are probably right, I haven't played the game in a long time 11

This was a feature in Command and Conquer. You could sell off all your buildings and go "all in" if you were desperate

also to stop someone "converting" them with an engineer.

Could be a really cool idea for a new civ mechanic. Really like that idea. I have an idea for a UT that is free but is a trade off. So 'Plus 2 attack on ranged units but can no longer research blast furnace or plate barding armour' Or 'Plus 1 melee armour on melee units but Arbalest no longer available.' I think this could be a really cool mechanic for a new civ also. Locking in a techtree/tech decision as a strategic play. Just waiting for enough karma to have my own 'just a silly idea' post.
