Who Am I? ( My first attempt at a visual poem (link to picture in post))
What do I look like?
Am I a White man with grizzly
brown hair?
Perhaps a Black woman with
eyes as dark as raisins
Maybe I'm Hispanic or Korean,
or maybe some mix of them all
An unknowable humanity blend within
my frame
Why have I come here anyway?
What purpose do I have in risking
sand mist assault, or having
the loose triforce temporarily blind
me?
Maybe I like it, or maybe
crashing sea pulled away
my dingy
The thing I hoped would float me
home
Now having me wonder whether wormy
clouds carry rain as I hope my
tiny vessel returns
Or maybe I've just come to take
a picture
Which is it?
Am I a hardened castaway seeking
land's refuge, or just some pretentious
poet trying to look smart with unusual
word use?
What do you think of me?
What would I think of you?
