This is cute. Very straightforward and to the point, but I think that can say a whole lot more than a bunch of jumbled metaphor that hides it's meaning. 

One think I'd maybe pay a bit more attention to in a poem such as this, with a strong rythmic element, is where the "strong" and "weak" syllables lie. You've created a certain rythm with the number of syllables, but that can feel a bit of in places where the strength of syllables clash. 

Compare the 3rd line in the 1st and last stanzas, where I've highlighted the naturally strong syllables (At least the ones I think are strong, I've never been great at working this out). 

 I’ve **nev**er **known** a **love** like **yours**

Then **looked** **back** up to **meet** my **gaze**

Though the syllable count is the same but the rythm is somewhat different. This means when I read aloud, I'm pronouncing words in the 4th stanza in a slightly unnatural way to fit the meter established in the first.

“Please marry me, my cherished heart,

For I know peace with you;

The world would have no hold on me

With you to see me through!"

 

“Please marry me, my precious dear,

What they have tried to tear apart

Let us forever bind!"

 

I closed my eyes to picture it,

Myself in a white dress,

Then looked back up to meet my gaze

And gave my love her "Yes!"
