Help with Get to Work, I can't join my sim amymore

Hey everyone I'm having an issue that I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like this or I'm just having a bug.

My sim was in the detective career and I always joined and solved cases. She now has been promoted to Chief and the game no longer let's me join, it doesn't even give me the option. I don't have any mods or cc so I don't know what's causing this. I already saved turned off my computer but nothing works.

I tried looking for this issue online but found nothing, is this normal?
